Journal #1

I find my classes to be a little challenging. They don't only have a lot of school work but also piles of homework i have to crawl my way out of. I am fond of the teachers though. They seem nice and not too difficult to communicate with.
It's hard to pick my favorite anything but I very much like photography. It might be weird but i actually enjoy typing and creating/decorating websites. I also like the art bit of it all. Capturing intimate and non-living elements and bringing to life just catches my attention. I find it all so pretty to see others take photos of the things they cherish.
Building my website was not too difficult. It was quite simple and entertaining to do. I believe the only hard choice to choose was figuring out what backgrounds I wanted for each of my pages. But other than that it wasn't hard to complete.
I don't think I have a coolest photo I have taken. I'm very hard on myself with the photos I take so I always believe I can do better.
I am more interested in photoshoots but more in a darker and eirly way. I will always love nature photography though. There will always be a place in my heart for nature.
For Labor Day weekend I'm not really planing anything. I don't have any plans but I might hang out with a couple friends. I will probably most likely be with only one of my friends. I would like to surprise that friend with a few things.

Blur Motion Before

Blur motion is when a person takes a photo with the shutter speed slowed down. This makes the image blurred where whatever has been moving. The lower the shutter speed the more blur motion you will be bale to capture.
To create a blur motion image you need a camera with the shutter speed slowed down and a moving object. There can be multiple subjects moving in the photo.
Most of my subjects will be people. I think i will have them spin and jump to capture the blur. I might also have them run across a distance in order to capture it that way. I will also probably have them shake their head to capture the blur motion that way.
In order to get the blur image to work you have to adjust the shutter speed on the camera. You have to adjust the shutter speed so it is slower than normal.

This image is taken at a carnival of a ferris wheel spinning around. The image was taken at night so all the man made lights of multiple colors can be seen in the blur of the photo. The shutter speed was slowed down so the blur of the moving ferris wheel can be seen in the photo.
This photo was taken in a tunnel while going through it so it can capture the blur movement. The image is also in black and white with lights shinning on the right side. There is not a lot going on in the image and it has a simplistic feel to it. The tunnel is a cylinder shape that curves to the left.
In the photo it shows a road with cars driving as the lights from the cars are left behind in streaks. It looks like it can be taken from a bridge above the roads. There is a contrast of cool and warm toned colors. The cool colors (blue and purple) being on the top and the warm colors (red, yellow, and orange) being on the bottom of the image.
The image is of a bird grazing the water with water spraying behind the animal. The bird is the subject of the blur motion. The photo was probably taken on lad and zoomed in onto the bird. The colors are very neutral and the glow from the falling sun is shone on the water.
The photo has a girl in black and white in the center of the image. The subject is the girl and she is shaking her head back and forth to create the blur effect. The left side is in the blur effect while the right side is still.
This is a picture of a goose that is flying with a yellow and orange background. The wings of the goose is the part that is in blur motion. To take this picture the photographer musst have lowered the shutter speed and zoomed in onto the subject.
This photo has a man on a bycicle riding past traffic. The cars and lights are in blur motion while the man on the bike is still. This photo was taken on a higher level than the cars and bike.
This image is of a man standing the center with an open umbrella over his head. The photo is also in black and white. I can't really recongize what is being blured in the photo but perhaps it is some light. The photo seems tos be taken at a lower level that is looking up at the subject, a worms eye view.
The photo looks to be taken by the person that is riding the bike. The photographer is riding their bike down a rode or sidewalk in what seemas to be fall weather. The rode and leaves are in blur motion while the bike is perfectly still in the image.
The picture looks like a person who is dancing or swinging their arms around at a high speed. The shutter speed might have been really low when this picture was taken considering the amount of blur motion on the subjects arms. The only source of light that appears is a spotlight on the subject.
The train in the subject of the photo and the photo is covered with neon lights. The colors are mostly pinks and blues with hints of purples. The shutter speed is in the moving train. The photo was taken straight ahead.
This picture is of a well lit highway with many cars driving on it. There is streaks of red on the roads indicating the cars are in blur motion. This image was taken on a higher level. Almost like a birds eye view.
The chicken is running on what could be a field of grass. The feet of the chicken is in blur motion while the rest of the chicken is still in the photo. The shutter speed was turned down in order to capture the image.
The poool able is in the center of the room and the pool balls were hit causing the balls that were hit to be in blur motion while the others lay still. The photo's shuter speed is turned down and the photo is taken above.
The photo is at carnival with a ride of swings with many people on it. The ride is mostly still but the swings and people are in blur motion. this photo is a worms eye view with the shutter speed turned down.
The photo looks to be in a trian station or bus station. The image is in balck and white and the crowd in the photo is hurrying to their destination. The photo has a lower shutter speed and is aimed down to the people.
This shows a hand playing piano close up. The shutter speeed is turned down and the hand is blurry because of it. There is not much going on rather than the hand and piano. The colors are basic and neutral.
The picture is outside with lights flying by. This could be cars driving by the building on the road. The shutter speed is lower so all the is seen the blur of the lights on the car.
This is a close up picture of someone who is typing. All that can be seen is the hands, part of the keyboard and a tiny bit of the wall. The hands are in blur motion becasue of the lowered shutter speed.
The photo is in the woods and is taken while riding a bike. The photo seems to be taken in the fall considering the leaves color and the leaves on the ground. The shutter speed is lowered and is taken close to the floor.
This picture is of a person in the center and it looks like they are going down an esculator. The speed of the esculator is causing the blur motion while the person stays in focused.
The subject is a guy riding a bike in the center of the picture and is going down the road or sidewalk. The blur is everything behind him causing it hard to see his surroundings.
The white dog is runninh down a field of dirt. The lowered shutter speed captures the dog's legs and the dirt that is being thrown around. I think the photographer zoomed in on the subject to get closer.
This looks like a carnival ride that is spinning around with blue and orange colors. The lowered shutter speed causes the spinning ride to be in blured motion. The photo was taken straight ahead.
The picture shows a train track under a a road. There is colors, blue and red, that spreed across the image. These colors can maybe be a car or train but cannot be seen becasue of the blured motion effect. The shuttered is lowered in order to take the picture.
Before Advanced Lighting
-
I think photographers draw with light by lowering the shutter speed and moving a light source around in shapes in order to create a drawing or words.
-
This technique is called light graffiti. I think it’s called this because you are drawing with light. You are doing the same motions as regular graffiti but with light instead of spray paint.
-
One person is taking the picture while another person is moving/drawing with the light source.
-
Color does effect how the viewer views an image because colors can submit certain emotions. Such as how blue can be see as quiet and sad.
-
Colors do resemble emotions because of the feelings a person feels when they see a certain color. Bright colors can be seen as happy and darker colors can be seen as angry and sad.
-
I think you add the color by having a colored light available instead of a regular light. You use the colored light as a replacement to the regular light.
-
I think you can use the exposure triangle with these techniques by adjusting the variables. Like lowering the IOS and shutter.
-
H
-
You can reflect light with another light source such as a flashlight angled on the reflected surface. The light reflects off and onto the subject.

After Advanced Lighting
-
You draw with light by lowering the shutter speed and having another person move some sort of light source into shapes when you take the photo.
-
G
-
The exposure triangle is the components of shutter speed, ISO and aperture. They can be adjusted to get the desired effect of a photograph.
-
The exposure triangle helped me while shooting by allowing me to take light graffiti photos and determining how much light is getting though.
-
I do think adding color to the images adds a more dramatic element to it by helping the viewer express and feel more/ certain emotions when looking at the picture.
-
Color light can be use an interpretation of emotions. Colors can bring up emotions in people.
-
What I found hard about directing my model to create my vision was the fact of trying to come up with ideas to create.
-
It wasn’t difficult to work with the strand lights. It was easy to photograph the subject and the lights when someone else illuminated the subject with another light so it wasn’t so dark.
-
I think you can use CD reflection outside for a photoshoot because the CD just needs another light source to help it reflect off onto the subject.

Still Life
1. the type of still life I want to create Is something dark. I was thinking about photos that are simplistic. I also want to try out shooting photos that is somewhat gothic by trying to use skulls in the photo.
2. The items I will bring to make it happen are probably skulls and books. I will also bring a lot of jewelry so help with achieving what I want to shoot. I don't know what else at the moment.
3. I think the lighting will work for me by having the light not directly on top of the objects but rather in the front of them. This can help with not having such a harsh light on the subjects. It can also help by creating shadows.
4. I think my still life is going to be a mix of both, contemporary or traditional. I was thinking of might having my still life as contemporary and the rest as traditional. I am not too sure yet.
5.My life stills are not based on a theme. I wanted to do just something simple but thoughtful. I really like simplistic types of art styles and thats what I am hoping to reach with some of my work.

Independent Project Proposal
1. The type of photography I choose incorporates people and shows a lot of skin. I wanted to capture people in their intimate moments without revealing too much.
2. I am gonna shoot the photos at home with a model or models in different posing mostly from the back of their side. Rarely will I shoot the person's face. portions of different body parts will be included in the shot.
3. I will need at most two models with a plain of black background. Also a shower and bath tub. I might have some taken outside but most of the photos will be inside with the sun going down.
4. I am probably gonna shoot these photos at my house because i need a shower for some shots. Other shots can be in an open field or a black wall.
5. I wanted to do this type of photography because I was interested in the topic. I saw similar photos and i was really intrigued with them.
Independent Project Proposal #4

1. The photography I choose has people dressed up as ghosts by using a sheet. I wanted my project to be about ghost but in a more comical way.
2. I am shooting the photos at home with a model wearing a white sheet. A person's face won't be seen in the pictures. However, their eyes may be seen through slits.
3. I will need a person and a sheet. I will have photos taken indoors and as well of outdoors. I want most of the pictures to be indoors though. I want the sun and sunlight to be seen.
4. I am shooting these photos at my house and at the school. The school has more plants and the roads at my house are empty.
5. I wanted to do this type of photography because I was really interested with the movie The Ghost Story. I really enjoyed the movie and was heavily intrigued by trying out different shots like the movie incorporated.
